Necklace

Marlene took a picture of our necklaces after the critique on Friday. It's copper fold formed around a sawed up goat jaw bone with steel jump rings.

Goats!

So, the unfortunate thing is I have my camera but I do not have the usb cord readily available to download pictures. I have misplaced it. I would love to show you the awesome jewelries that I've been working on but until I find the usb or figure out how to get my cell phone to send pictures to the internet you will have to use your imaginations. So far it's all been masks, ee cummings poems, and goats. Like I said I've been working on sawing up a goat jaw bone to turn into a necklace. I made some great strides today which is good because it's due Friday! well I don't have a picture of the necklace but here is a picture of a goat for you to enjoy instead.

What the What

Oh hey there! Yes it's been like two months since I've been on here. To be fair I have been really busy. Mostly I've been participating in a 9 week metals bootcamp at Pocosin Arts Folk School in Columbia, NC. I've been learning a lot from how to use quickbooks and what it means to run a small business to how to make a cabochon stone to champleve enameling. I've finished two projects out of three, I'm working on the third right now! Presently I am working on a necklace using a sawed up goat's jawbone as a design element. I sawed it up myself. It was gross it got in my mouth...Anyways, in the past 9 weeks I, along with two other young ladies, applied for a grant from the rural economic fund to start a small business in Columbia, NC...and guess what, we got it!!!! So, $30,000 later we are trying to set up a gallery and studio space. We will be selling our own work as well of the work of other artists in the craft field. Check out our face book, Columbia Art Space, and our website, ColumbiaArtSpace.com...By the way the name of our business is Columbia Art Space (CAS). And yes there is a link on our website to this blog. You're welcome for the convenience. So stay tuned and of course come visit if you're in the area...and if you're in the area it either means you are on your way to the Outer Banks or are lost...I guess it doesn't matter how you got to Columbia it only matters that you are here because this place is awesome and I am here to stay!!!!
