Arrowmont!

One week down, eleven to go. My first week here was also my first class. I was in a metals class, of course, called "Metal Enshrine" and it was all about making shrines. I made masks instead. We pretty much worked exclusively in tin which was new for me, and I have to say I really like it. It will be showing up in my work in the future I'm almost certain of it. Here are some photos...you can play "Find the Namibian Influence"

Soon this blog will go back to its intended use...chronicling my adventures in foreign states. Yes, in a matter of days I will be heading down to Tennessee to partake in their work-study program once again. I am super excited about going down there to take some awesome classes, see my work-study buddies, bask in the glory that is Gatlinburg, and get out of Ohio for a bit. Until then I have lots and lots of stuffs to get done. I have to make all sorts of jewelry for craft shows I will not be able to attend, I have to get ready for the YS street fair (which I will be at this weekend), I have to organize, gather, pack, make donuts, be awesome, and do all sorts of other strenuous activities. To get me pumped I'm just gonna play Rocky Top over and over again.

A Gentleman Never Asks...

A Lady Never Tells. Today is Pat Heffron-Cartwright's birthday. All I'm gonna say is that she is now between the ages of 40 and 75. How old is Pat? You decide. Anyways I wanted to give my mom a special shout out on her special day. Included is a mini photo montage of her with the four greatest gifts she ever received...her children. That was a little cheesy and awkwardly phrased and I apologize but you get the picture...pun intended.
